Cinder

For this composition I used mostly acrylic paint and water to create the galaxy-like coloring on the right side in the dress. I wanted the dress to loop up in a sort of half circle so that the viewer's eye would move around the composition and come back around to the girl. If I were to redo this piece, I'd like to make the stars more accurate and try not to splatter the silver paint as much while still making the placement of the stars look random.

Lionheart

For this piece, I wanted to create a scene that would be found in a story book, but I also wanted to put my own twist on it by giving the girl in the foreground modern clothing. I wanted to use pencil for this drawing because of all the contrast and I also wanted to make sure to draw the viewer's eye around the piece with the circular motion of the dragon.

Murky Waters

This painting was inspired by a contest that my teacher told me about that focused on showing humans' impact on marine life. Where I used to live in South Florida, there was a sea turtle rescue center that I loved to visit, and my experience there really inspired this piece. I combined the crisp, straight lines of the city with the organic nature if the turtle while still making sure to make it look as though they belong together through the color pallet.
